BOGUE

Bogue may be one of the smallest towns along the Crystal Coast, but residents and visitors alike will agree that a lot of Bogue Sound's history is packed into this little town. Incorporated in 1995, Bogue now boasts a population of just over 680 full-time residents. The area borders scenic Bogue Sound, and is only a short 'jump' from Cape Carteret, Emerald Isle, and Swansboro.

Bogue is home to United States Marine Corps Auxiliary Landing Field, or Bogue Field, a training facility used for flight exercises along the coast. The facility was originally opened in 1942 and used for various military purposes, but since 2003, only one landing strip is open for military training exercises.
